DO YOU TEACH A DISCIPLINE-BASED ART CURRICULUM OR A CHOICE-BASED ONE?
I believe the response to this question would have a lot to do with the school being applied for. Personally I believe in DBAE primarily, however I think having some periods where choice-based curriculum is applied. For example I believe it is important to lead the classroom and make sure everyone is on the same page but I would like to be able to have the opportunity to give the students periods of artistic reign where they can choose what they would like to learn in their classroom.

Interview Question 4
CAN YOU TALK ABOUT TRENDS IN EDUCATION TO WHICH YOU ARE PROFESSIONALLY COMMITTED?
When you know what school you are interviewing for, you need to research what trends that school district is following and show that you know something about it. You can respond that you might not necessarily know about it but you know the importance of it and are looking forward to getting to learn more about the trend.

Interview Question 3
BEING AN "ART TEACHER", WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT TO YOU? ART OR TEACHING?
I believe that in any teaching position, teaching is the first and foremost important thing. You need to be an educator and a mentor for your students. Art is just the content you are teaching, but you definitely need a passion for art.
DO YOU NEED TO BE AN ARTIST TO BE AN ART TEACHER?
I do not believe you need to be an "artist" in the sense that you are currently practicing and producing art, but I do think you need to have the knowledge and the passion for art.
